* ...as Ogun APC guber candidate commends convener’s long-standing efforts
The Yayi Progressives Movement, a leading political support group of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, has again donated campaign materials and food items to its principal, Senator Solomon Adeola, ahead of his campaign activities.
The gathering, which was attended by the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate, Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Balogun (nee Adegunwa), alongside the Commissioner for Budget, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade; Hon. Babatunde Olaotan; and other party stakeholders, featured the presentation of the items by selected representatives of the movement.
Speaking at the gathering on Thursday Senator Adeola said the contributions of the Yayi Progressives Movement to his political aspiration could not be overlooked.
He acknowledged the numerous roles played by the movement’s Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, as well as other members, highlighting the group’s activities since its inauguration, including the donation of 27 buses and the solidarity trek, among other initiatives.
Senator Adeola further appreciated members of the movement for their steadfastness and charged them not to relent in their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections. Adding that the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would ultimately benefit the people of Ogun State.
In his reaction, the Convener of the movement, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde in an acknowledgment statement released to journalists on Friday through its Director of Media and Communications, Comrade Oluseun Joshua, stated that his long-standing support for Senator Adeola, even before the formation of DACA, had always been driven by a clear sense of purpose. Akintunde added that the people of Ogun State were now witnessing the outcome of that commitment.
“Our principal, distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola ‘Yayi’, is a father to many of us. He has demonstrated this in many ways. There is no amount of effort we can put together that would prevent him from enjoying our full support.
“Senator Adeola is a father who gave us a marching order to mobilise support for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, even before the formation of DACA and to this stage of the Yayi Progressives Movement.
“The election of our principal and distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan ‘Yayi’ is a paramount assignment to all of us in the Yayi Progressives Movement. I appreciate all our members who are working tirelessly towards achieving this objective,” - Akintunde said.
In the same vein, the Deputy Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Yakubu Lookman, praised Senator Adeola for his leadership qualities and the support he had provided to the Yayi Progressives Movement at various levels.
He also commended the movement’s leadership for creating opportunities for members to mobilise and work collectively towards achieving the group’s political objective in support of Senator Solomon Adeola ‘Yayi’.
